Job Opportunity: System Engineer – Reputable Bank in Beirut

A reputable bank in Beirut is seeking an experienced System Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in database administration, server infrastructure, virtualization management, and containerization deployment technologies.

Role Overview

The System Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the bank’s IT systems. This includes database administration, server management, virtualization, disaster recovery, and support for application infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain enterprise databases including installation, configuration, monitoring, backup, and recovery.

• Manage and optimize server infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

• Implement and maintain data replication strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.

• Oversee and support applications infrastructure, ensuring smooth deployment and operation.

• Work with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes to streamline application delivery.

• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for efficient resource utilization.

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and enforce security best practices.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support business-critical applications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering or similar role.

• Strong experience with database administration (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

• Solid background in Windows and Linux server administration.

• Hands-on experience with data replication and disaster recovery solutions.

• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Proficiency with virtualization platforms.

• Familiarity with Domain controller, DNS and Exchange server.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
